To the McCabe Pass!
Back in June we took a walk along some of the Sierra High Route through Tuolomnee and over to MccaBe Pass. Rojo did some scrambling moves, the more cross country. We finished the hike by me leading us down 1000 feet to cross a river and then having to ascend 1000 feet to meet up with the trail, that took us 5 miles further back to the road. We loved it. Thanks for coming along for another fine adventure with me.

Some of my Favorites Steps
I've also been up and the down the Mist Trail seven or eight times this year in all kinds of weather, but mostly sunny I have to say. Here's a snapshot from one of the days I carried my SLR for a personal project that still hasn't panned out!
Yos Falls
I've been to the top of the Falls seven or eight times already this year in all kinds of weather, but mostly sunny. Here's an IPhone HDR snapshot of one of those times.

iPhone Masterpieces
Here are some Instagram postings and one Panoramic. Enjoy these, I enjoyed the weight savings over the SLR, but need to bring the SLR back out soon.

January Snow
We got a nice full day and a half of rain that brought snow on the rim. Now its a beautiful bluebird day and a perfect time to check out the top of Yosemite Falls- this makes it the seventh time I've been to the top in the last eight weeks. Enjoy some snapshots. Tomorrow its pictures of the family at the hotel pool!

Diving Board of Half Dome
B.S. and I took a fun sojourn today out of the valley and up to the side of Half Dome called the diving board. Ansel Adams took his famous snapshot of the face of Half Dome there back in the 20s I believe. It was another day in the high sixties, maybe even seventies on the slabs in the sun- good and bad for a January. We saw a team of three on the Snake Dike route as we wandered past the start of the climb to the tip of the wall and the face of Half Dome. Coming back we got lost returning down the slabs- if you go remember there are two gullys, and the correct way down is the second one, then down the talus field. Somewhere past Lost Lake, we also lost the trail again, but went through the forest and swampland and Bigfoot country to reconnect with the trail. We were hoping the Duck Dynasty clan didn't shot us as we traveled through the woods! Coming back down Nevada and Vernal Falls brought us to the river, and a quick river crossing led us back to the trailhead parking lot.
