Some nice fall colors on the Nevada Falls trail last Saturday on my birthday.  Enjoy.

40th Birthday

My 40th Bday present to myself: a morning hike to the base of the cables of Half Dome that have been taken down for the season.  For those who wonder why I don't hand over hand them to the top- I'm scared.  The bottom picture is a nice snapshot of sub dome, or FU Dome as Rojo colorfully calls it.

Like Somalia, we are a Government shut down

If your looking to get silly, you better go back to from where you came/ Because the Government doesn't need you, and man they expect the same. 

The Last Days of the Chappel Tree

The famous Chappel tree still had some color in it yesterday when I took these snapshots.  I let the wind move around during the longer exposure to get the impression of flames.  I like the way it turned out in some of the postards.  Next year we will have to come up with something different.  Enjoy.

Mt Whitney Again

Another trip up Mt Whiteny on September 23rd- this time with Rojo, Summer, Kate, Cassidy and Matt.  Perfect weather and no wind.  Camped and walked the streets of Lone Pine for two days before the hike, and then drove down to Upland the day after to meet up with Laura and Holden.  Loved it.
