Falls Sunset

A February Yosemite Falls sunset means only one thing: hiking the last half of the trail down in darkness with a headlamp.  But it wasn't too bad- 2 hours, 14 minutes roundtrip with photos.  Enjoy the new postcard.

Liberty Cap

Went to the top of Liberty Cap today with Shane Barber.  I made us turn around on the approach hike between Liberty and Brodwick, taking us up  the Nevada switchbacks instead adding an extra hour.  The joke was that we now had to take off our Patagonia clothes and put on Columbia clothes since the adventure became more regular for a short while- but it turned out adventuresome in the end.  Enjoy.

Looking for Creeks of Snow

We went wandering up the hillside in the winter looking for the sun and there it was.  Almost no snow and perfect February temperatures for hiking.  Another great Yosemite day.  The bottom snapshot is of the ever elusive Watkins Spires.  Ever elusive in the sense that I think I've only posted a photo of them once in the last 2 years- which maybe isn't elusive after all.  But nobody has heard of them besides us.  Enjoy.

Yosemite Falls in Febraury

You would have never have known it was a winter February day on the trail up Yosemite Falls this Sunday.  Mostly snow free and sunny enough for only a tee shirt on this afternoon sojourn up the trail with Rojo.  The snowcone looks big and daunting and we all know more snow always falls this month at least once and storms arrive in March as well.  Enjoy these postcards for the time being.

Vernal Steps

Last Saturday, Shane and I took a walk up to Nevada Falls.  The best part was the steps of the Mist Trail.  Shane said he's gonna walk 500 Miles this year.  Good luck to him, and I am going to say 400 for myself.
